Sabrina BascianiBiologist and Nutritionist

Sabrina Basciani – Nutritionist biologist, I graduated from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” and carried out all my post-graduate training activities (PhD, Master in Nutrition), research and clinical in contact with patients, at the Department of Experimental Medicine Section of Medical Pathophysiology, Endocrinology, Food Science of the Policlinico Umberto I in Rome, where I currently work as a fixed-term researcher.

Furthermore, at the same University, I was awarded the role of adjunct professor in Clinical Biochemistry and Clinical Molecular Biology.

My clinical and research activity is currently focused on innovative nutritional therapies such as ketogenic diets and on the role of the intestinal microbiota (the set of intestinal microorganisms that coexist in symbiosis with the human body) in conditioning our state of well-being, as well as in determining the success or failure of a diet therapy program.

Following my professional experience, I collaborate on research projects with the Oncology Unit directed by Dr. Salvatore Artale of the Sant’Antonio Abate Hospital of Gallarate of the ASST Valle Olona.

My daily activity, which takes place with patients suffering from obesity, metabolic diseases, gastrointestinal pathologies and dysbiosis, conditions often related to an increased risk of developing certain types of cancer, is focused on the use of precision nutrition that involves the creation of food plans that take into account the patient’s state of health but also the health of his intestinal microbiota.

On the basis of what has been said, I set myself the goal of making those who live in our gastrointestinal system better known and how, with appropriate dietary strategies, we can bring our intestinal bacteria back to that condition of equilibrium that contributes to the return to our state of health.
